The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Instrument in exercise of powers conferred by section 16 of the Highways Act 1980(1), and now vested in him(2), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf:

1.  This Instrument may be cited as The County Council of The Royal County of Berkshire (A329(M) Loddon Bridge Connecting Road) Special Road Scheme 1995 Confirmation Instrument 1995 and shall come into force on the date on which notice that it has been confirmed in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 2 to the Highways Act 1980.

2.  The County Council of The Royal County of Berkshire (A329(M) Loddon Bridge Connecting Road) Special Road Scheme 1995 “the Scheme”) is hereby confirmed without modification.

3.  The Scheme as confirmed is set out in the Schedule hereto and copies of the Scheme with its accompanying plan are deposited at the offices of the Department of Transport, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1 3PY and at the offices of the County Council of The Royal County of Berkshire at Shire Hall, Shinfield Park, Reading, Berkshire.

THE SCHEDULEThe County Council of The Royal County of Berkshire (A329(M) Loddon Bridge Connecting Road) Special Road Scheme 1995

The County Council of the Royal County of Berkshire makes this Scheme in exercise of its powers under sections 16 and 17 of the Highways Act 1980 and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf:—

1.  The Council is authorised to provide along the route described in the Schedule to this Scheme a special road for the use of traffic of Classes I and II of the classes of traffic set out in Schedule 4 to the Highways Act 1980 as amended.

2.  The centre line of the special road is indicated by a heavy black line on the deposited plan.

3.  In this Scheme:—

“the Council” means the County Council of the Royal County of Berkshire; “the deposited plan” means the plan numbered TM300/94/6A marked “The County Council of the Royal County of Berkshire (A329(M) Loddon Bridge Connection Road) Special Road Scheme 1995” sealed with the Common Seal of the Council and deposited at the offices of the Council at Shire Hall, Shinfield Park, Reading, Berkshire. A certified copy is also deposited at the offices of the Secretary of State for Transport; “the special road” means the special road mentioned in Article 1 of this Scheme.

4.  This Scheme may be cited as the County Council of the Royal County of Berkshire (A329(M) Loddon Bridge Connecting Road) Special Road Scheme 1995.

THE SCHEDULE TO THE SCHEMERoute of the Special Road

A route to connect the A329(M) westbound access slip road at Loddon Bridge in the Parish of Winnersh in the District of Wokingham in the Royal County of Berkshire at a point 50 metres north west of its junction with the A329 Spur Road (marked A on the deposited plan) eastwards for a distance of 40 metres to a point (marked B on the deposited plan) where it will connect with a road (which will not be public highway) forming part of the “Park and Ride” Car Park within the multi-screen cinema and car park development at Loddon Bridge aforesaid.

Given under the Common Seal of the Council the second day of May 1995.
