RATING AND VALUATION

The Local Government Finance (Consequential Amendment) Order 1991

The Secretary of State for the Environment, as respects England, andthe Secretary of State for Wales, as respects Wales, in exercise of thepowers conferred on them by section 147(1) and (2) of the LocalGovernment Finance Act 1988(1), and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf,hereby make the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Local Government Finance(Consequential Amendment) Order 1991, and shall come into force on 7thMay 1991.

Consequential amendment

2.  Section 109(6) of the Land Drainage Act 1976(2) is amended by the omission of the words“or the rates upon which they are to be charged”.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

Article 2 of this Order amends subsection (6) of section 109 of theLand Drainage Act 1976. The words omitted from that subsection relate tothe rating system which was superseded by the provisions of the LocalGovernment Finance Act 1988.
