Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order extends until 31st March 1992 the period during which certain new street byelaws continue in force. The byelaws were made before the commencement of the Highways Act 1959 (c. 25) under enactments which were repealed by that Act. Section 312(6) of that Act kept those byelaws in force until 30th April 1962 and orders made under that section and subsequently under paragraph 11 of Schedule 23 to the Highways Act 1980 have continued the byelaws in force until 31st March 1991.
