Regulation 2(5) of the Community Health Councils Regulations 1985 requires a District Health Authority in Wales, in accordance with any directions which may be given by the Secretary of State, to assist the Secretary of State in—
(a)inviting applications for membership of Community Health Councils in Wales from voluntary organisations;
(b)appointing officers of such Councils;
(c)administering arrangements for the provision of accommodation, services and other facilities for such Councils;
(d)paying such expenses of such Councils as are approved by the Secretary of State.
Regulation 2(5) also requires a District Health Authority in Wales, in accordance with any such directions, to exercise the functions of the Secretary of State with respect to the payment of travelling and other allowances to members of such Councils.
These Regulations amend the said regulation 2(5) by substituting a reference to the Welsh Health Common Services Authority for the reference in regulation 2(5) to a District Health Authority.
