[F12.—(1) The owner of a dog to which section 1 of the Act applies who has arranged for it to be destroyed before the appointed day shall be paid by the Secretary of State the sums mentioned in paragraphs (2) and (3), if, after complying with article 6 (provision of information to the police), he makes written application to the Agency in such form, containing such particulars and supported by such evidence as the Agency may reasonably require for the purpose of satisfying themselves–E+W+S
(a)that the dog is one to which section 1 applies;
(b)that the applicant is the owner of the dog;
(c)that he has complied with article 6; and
(d)that the dog has been destroyed,
and the Agency are satisfied as aforesaid.
(2) The sum payable in respect of dogs in relation to which the Agency are so satisfied shall be–
(a)in the case of a pit bull terrier £25;
(b)in the case of a Japanese Tosa £100; and
(c)in the case of a dog of a type designated in an order under section 1(1)(c) of the Act £100.
(3) The sum payable in respect of the cost of destruction of a dog in relation to which the Agency are so satisfied shall be £25.]
