2. In this Order–
“the Act” means the Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 1987;
“designated country” means a country or territory designated under article 3(1) of this Order;
“appropriate authority of a designated country” means–
the authority specified opposite that country in Schedule 1 to this Order; or
where no authority is specified, the authority appearing to the Court to be the appropriate authority for that country for the purposes of sections 30 and 30A of the Act(1), and of the other provisions of the Act as applied under article 3(2) of this Order;
“a court of a designated country” includes a court of any state or territory of a designated country.
Section 30 was substituted by and section 30A was inserted by the Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Scotland) Act 1990 (c. 40), section 63.
