The route of the new trunk road is about 5.4 kilometres in length, and is in the District of Craven in the County of North Yorkshire. It starts at a point on the Trunk Road 50 metres east of the British Rail line at Coniston Bridge (marked “A” on the deposited plan), then goes in a generally easterly then south easterly direction, (including a roundabout east of Holme House) and ends at a point on the Trunk Road 650 metres north west of its junction with Sour Lane, Thorlby (marked “B” on the deposited plan).
