The Buckinghamshire County Council H8 Standing Way (Canal Bridge) Scheme 1987 Confirmation Instrument 1987

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Instrument in exercise of powers conferred by sections 106(3) and 325 of the Highways Act 1980(1) and now vested in him(2) and of all other enabling powers:

1.  The Buckinghamshire County Council H8 Standing Way (Canal Bridge) Scheme 1987 hereinafter referred to as “the Scheme” is hereby confirmed without modification.

2.  The said Scheme as confirmed is set out in the Schedule hereto and copies of the Scheme with its accompanying plans are deposited at the offices of the Department of Transport, and at the offices of the Buckinghamshire County Council, County Hall, Aylesbury.

3.  The Scheme will become operative on the date on which notice that it has been confirmed is first published in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 2 to the Highways Act 1980.

4.  This Instrument may be cited as the Buckinghamshire County Council H8 Standing Way (Canal Bridge) Scheme 1987 Confirmation Instrument 1987.

THE SCHEDULE TO THE INSTRUMENTTHE BUCKINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL H8 STANDING WAY (CANAL BRIDGE) SCHEME 1987

THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF BUCKINGHAMSHIRE (hereinafter referred to as “the Council”) makes this Scheme in exercise of their powers under Section 106 of the Highways Act 1980 and of all other enabling powers:—

1.  The Council are authorised to construct over the navigable waters of the Grand Union Canal at Tinkers Bridge Milton Keynes in the County of Buckinghamshire the bridge specified in the Schedule to this Scheme as part of the highway which they are proposing to construct between the V8 highway and the V10 highway in the Borough of Milton Keynes in the said County.

2.  This Scheme may be cited as the Buckinghamshire County Council H8 Standing Way (Canal Bridge) Scheme 1987.

GIVEN under the Common Seal of the Council this third day of August 1987.

THE SCHEDULE TO THE SCHEME

The location and specifications of the bridge are shown on drawing number HD/5263/5 attached hereto and the construction of the bridge shall include:—

Span22.5 metres
Minimum Waterway Width15.0 metres
Minimum Canal Headroom3.0 metres
Minimum Pedestrian Headroom2.3 metres
