This Order makes provision for the modification of the Social Security Act 1975 so as to give effect to the Convention on social security (set out in the Schedule) made between the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Government of Iceland. The Convention prevents dual liability for social security contributions and relates to reciprocity for purposes of sickness benefit, invalidity pension, unemployment benefit, benefits for industrial injuries and diseases, old age pension and widow's benefit, orphan's benefit and death grant.
