3. In these Rules, unless the context otherwise requires, the following expressions have the meanings hereby respectively assigned to them, that is to say:—
“acceptance of an offer of exchange” means
“appropriate authority” means
“the Bank” means
“the Commissioners” means
“curator”,
“exchange” means
“holder” means
“infant”, in relation to Scotland, means
“minor” means
“new securities” means
“old securities” means
“pupil” means
“receiver” in relation to an acceptance in a case where the holder is a person suffering from mental disorder, means
in the application of these Rules to England and Wales, a receiver or other person authorised in that behalf under Part VIII of the Mental Health Act 1959;
in the application of these Rules to Scotland, a curator bonis or other person appointed by the Court to manage the affairs of the holder; and
in the application of these Rules to Northern Ireland, the holder's committee;
