2.—(1) In paragraph (1)(a) of regulation 3 of the principal regulations (requirement to be registered as qualification for specified employment by health authorities) for the words after “appropriate to” there shall be substituted the words “work in that capacity; or”.
(2) For paragraph (1)(b) of that regulation (alternative qualification) there shall be substituted the following—
“(b)he is a person who has never been so registered and, immediately before 1st April 1974, was in employment for which he was qualified by virtue of either regulation 3(b) of the National Health Service (Professions Supplementary to Medicine) Regulations 1964(1) or regulation 3(b) of the National Assistance (Professions Supplementary to Medicine) Regulations 1964(2) (employment of unregistered officers who had been similarly employed on 29th June 1964).”
