Queen Anne's Bounty Act 1838

  1. Introductory Text

  2. Abolishing Offices of First Fruits and Tenths.

  3. II.Books, &c. belonging to abolished Offices to be delivered up to the Treasurer of Queen Anne's Bounty.

  4. III.The Treasurer of Queen Anne's Bounty to be the sole Collector of the First Fruits and Tenths.

  5. IV.Alteration in the Mode-of collecting First Fruits and Tenths not to affect the Remedies for compelling Payment.

  6. V.Duties of abolished Offices to be performed by Treasurer of Queen Anne's Bounty.

  7. VI.Searches to be made and Copies of Documents to be obtained as heretofore.

  8. VII.Fees for Searches, &c. to be paid to the Treasurer of Queen Anne's Bounty.

  9. VIII.Account of First Fruits and Tenths payable to be sent to Clerks on Institution.

  10. IX.Notice of Arrears to be sent to the Party omitting to pay.

  11. X.Provisions of former Acts relating to First Fruits and Tenths to continue in force, except where altered by this Act.

  12. XI.Compensation to the Remembrancer of First Fruits and Tenths.

  13. XII.Compensation to other Officers.

  14. XIII.Title to be shown to the Office of Remembrancer.

  15. XIV.In case of not making out a good Title, Purchase Money to be paid into Court of Exchequer.

  16. XV.Persons in Possession of Office of Remembrancer to be deemed rightfully entitled thereto until contrary is proved.

  17. XVI.Bishop of Ripon and Bishops of any future new Sees to be Governors.

  18. XVII.General Meeting of Governors to be held yearly.

  19. XVIII.Account to be annually laid before Her Majesty in Council and both Houses of Parliament.

  20. XIX.Governors empowered to make Rules and Orders.

  21. XX.Deeds for Purchases, &c, to be made in the following Form.

  22. XXI.Deed for granting Stipends, &c. to be in the following Form.

  23. XXII.Definition of the Word " grant " in Conveyances, &c.

  24. XXIII.Governors of Queen Anne's Bounty to cause Deeds to be enrolled.

  25. XXIV.Powers of Acts now in force respecting Forms of Deeds, &c. not to be affected.

  26. XXV.Act may be altered, &c. this Session.
