This is the original version (as it was originally enacted).
Section three of the British Settlements Act, 1887 (which empowers His Majesty, by any instrument passed under the Great Seal of the United Kingdom or by any instructions under His Majesty's Royal Sign Manual referred to in any such instrument as made or to be made as respects any British settlement, to delegate to any three or more persons within the settlement all or any of the powers conferred by that Act on His Majesty in Council), shall have effect as if—
(a)any reference therein to an instrument passed as aforesaid included a reference to an Order of His Majesty in Council ; and
(b)for the reference therein to any three or more persons within the settlement there were substituted a reference to any specified person or persons or authority.
This Act may be cited as the British Settlements Act, 1945, and the British Settlements Act, 1887, and this Act may be cited together as the British Settlements Acts, 1887 and 1945.
