Territorial extent and application
- Section 57 sets out the territorial extent of the Act – that is the jurisdictions of which the Act forms part of the law. The extent of the Act can be different from its application. Application is where an Act produces a practical effect. The majority of the provisions in the Act extend to the UK, but they have varying application.
- The table in Annex C provides a summary of the position regarding territorial extent and application in the United Kingdom.
