Immigration and Asylum Act 1999


442.Section 170(2) provides that subsections (1) and (2) of section 115 (Exclusion from benefits) will come into force on the day on which the first regulations made under Schedule 8 (Provision of support: regulations) come into force. Subsection (3) of section 170 sets out the provisions which came into force on the passing of this Act. The other provisions of the Act will come into force on such dates as the Secretary of State appoints. The exception is section 10 (Removal of certain persons unlawfully in the United Kingdom) and paragraph 12 of Schedule 15, which come into force in accordance with section 9.
