The Courts and Legal Services Act 1990 (c. 41)

11 (1) In section 10 of the Courts and Legal Services Act 1990 (family proceedings in magistrates' courts and related matters), for subsection (1) (meaning of “family proceedings”) there shall be substituted the following subsection—

“(1) In subsection (2) “family proceedings” means proceedings under Part I of the [1978 c. 22.] Domestic Proceedings and Magistrates' Courts Act 1978.”

(2) In subsection (2) of that section (which allows the same provision to be made by rules under section 144 of the 1980 Act in relation to family proceedings as may be made under section 93 of the Children Act 1989 in relation to relevant proceedings under that section) for the words from the beginning to “section 144 of that Act” there shall be substituted “Rules made under section 144 of the [1980 c. 43.] Magistrates' Courts Act 1980”.
