National Savings Bank Act 1971

27 Interpretation

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires.—

• " the Commissioners " means the National Debt Commissioners ;

• " prescribed " means prescribed by regulations made under section 2 of this Act; " the Registrar " means—

  (a)

  for England and Wales, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands, the central office of the registry of friendly societies,

  (b)

  for Scotland, the assistant registrar of friendly societies for Scotland, and

  (c)

  for Northern Ireland, the chief registrar of friendly societies or a deputy appointed by him;

• " trustee savings bank " means a bank certified under the [1863 c. 87.] Trustee Savings Banks Act 1863, the [1954 c. 63.] Trustee Savings Banks Act 1954, the [1969 c. 50.] Trustee Savings Banks Act 1969 or any Act re-enacting the provisions of the last-mentioned Act.
