The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 53(4) of the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014(1), makes the following Order.
In accordance with section 182(2) of that Act, a draft of this instrument has been laid before, and approved by a resolution of, each House of Parliament.
1. This Order may be cited as the Anti-social Behaviour (Authorised Persons) Order 2015 and comes into force on the day after the day on which it is made.
2. For the purposes of section 53(1)(c) of the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, housing providers (within the meaning of section 20 of that Act) are specified.

This Order makes provision for a local authority to authorise a housing provider, as defined by section 20 of the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing 2014 Act (the 2014 Act), to issue community protection notices (section 43) and fixed penalty notices (section 52).
Under section 53(1) of the 2014 Act a community protection notice or fixed penalty notice may be issued by a constable, a relevant local authority, or a person designated by the relevant local authority. Only a person specified in an order made by the Secretary of State may be designated in this way (section 53(4)).
