Citation, commencement and extent

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Representation of the People (Form of Canvass) (Scotland) Regulations 2006 and shall come into force on the 14th day after the day on which they are made.

(2) These Regulations exten d to Scotland only.

Revocation

2.  The Representation of the People (Form of Canvass) (Scotland) Regulations 2004(1)are revoked.

Prescribed form

3.  The form set out in Part 1 of the Schedule to these Regulations is prescribed for use for the purposes of the canvass which is required to be conducted by section 10 of the Representation of the People Act 1983.

Amendment of provision about applications

4.—(1) In regulation 26(6) of the Representation of the People (Scotland) Regulations 2001 (applications for registration)(2)for “Part II of the Schedule, or a form of words to the same effect, to the Representation of the People (Form of Canvass) (Scotland) Regulations 2004”substitute “Part 2 of the Schedule, or a form of words to the same effect, to the Representation of the People (Form of Canvass) (Scotland) Regulations 2006”.

(2) Part 2 of the Schedule has effect.
