1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Dangerous Dogs (Designated Types) (Scotland) Order 2024 and comes into force on 23 February 2024.
(2) This Order extends to Scotland only.
2. The type of dog known as the XL Bully is designated for the purposes of section 1 of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, being a type appearing to the Scottish Ministers to be bred for fighting or to have the characteristics of a type bred for that purpose.
3. The reference in article 2 of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 (Commencement and Appointed Day) Order 1991(1) to 30 November 1991 is, in respect of dogs of the type designated by article 2, to be read as a reference to 31 July 2024.
