The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is designated(1) for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972(2) in relation to the common agricultural policy of the European Union.
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 8(1), (2) and (5) of the Diseases of Animals (Northern Ireland) Order 1981(3) and section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 having consulted with the bodies which appeared to it to be substantially representative of the interests concerned and with the approval of the Department of Finance and Personnel.
