2.—(1) In these Regulations—
“Community Recording Equipment Regulation” means Council Regulation (EEC) No.3821/85(1) on recording equipment in road transport as it has effect in accordance with—
Commission Regulation (EEC) No 3314/90(2);
Commission Regulation (EEC) No 3688/92(3);
Commission Regulation (EC) 1056/97(5);
Article 1 of Council Regulation (EC) 2135/98(6);
Commission Regulation (EC) 1360/2002(7);
Regulation (EC) 1882/2003 of the European Parliament and the Council(8);
Commission Regulation (EC) 432/2004(9); and
and as read with the Community Drivers’ Hours and Recording Equipment (Exemptions and Supplementary Provisions) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1987(11);
“company card”, “control card”, “driver card” and “workshop card” have the meanings given by Annex IB to the Community Recording Equipment Regulation;
“the Department” means the Department of the Environment;
“PIN” means personal identification number for use in connection with a workshop card;
“relevant vehicle” means a vehicle in which there is recording equipment
which has been installed in accordance with the Community Recording Equipment Regulation; and
complies with Annexes IB and II to that Regulation;
“tachograph card” means a company card, control card, driver card or workshop card.
(2) The Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954(12) shall apply to these Regulations as it applies to an Act of the Northern Ireland Assembly.
