Foyle Area and Carlingford Area (Licensing of Fishing Engines) (Amendment) Regulations 2007

The Foyle, Carlingford and Irish Lights Commission, in exercise of its powers under section 13(1) (amended by section 34(3) of the British-Irish Agreement Act 1999(1) and section 5(1) of the British-Irish Agreement (Amendment) Act 2002(1)) and 13(2) of the Foyle Fisheries Act 1952(1) which stand transferred to it under section 34(1) of the British-Irish Agreement Act 1999, and in exercise of the powers conferred by section 13(1) and (2) of the Foyle Fisheries Act (Northern Ireland) 1952(2) and now vested in it(3) and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, with the approval of the Government of Ireland and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, under the agreement made between those Governments on 19th November 2002(4) and section 5(1) of the British-Irish Agreement (Amendment) Act 2002, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and Commencement

1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Foyle Area and Carlingford Area (Licensing of Fishing Engines) (Amendment) Regulations 2007 and shall come into operation on 14th January 2007.

Amendment of the Foyle Area and Carlingford Area (Licensing of Fishing Engines) Regulations 2001

2.  The Foyle Area and Carlingford Area (Licensing of Fishing Engines) Regulations 2001(5) shall be amended as provided in regulation 3.

Applications for Draft and Drift Net Licences

3.  In regulation 4(7) where the dates 15th January and 30th April occur there shall be substituted 30th April and 30th May respectively.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations amend the Foyle Area and Carlingford Area (Licensing of Fishing Engines) Regulations 2001 by amending the dates by which applications for commercial salmon licences must reach the Commission.
