Citation and commencement
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Units of Measurement Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2002 and shall come into operation on 8th April 2002.
Interpretation
2.—(1) The Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954(1) shall apply to these Regulations as it applies to an Act of the Northern Ireland Assembly.
(2) In these Regulations “the 1981 Order” means the Weights and Measures (Northern Ireland) Order 1981(2).
Amendment of the 1981 Order
3.—(1) The 1981 Order shall be amended as follows.
(2) In Article 6 in paragraph (7A)(3) after the words “the use for trade” there shall be inserted “until 31st December 2009”.
