The Jobseeker’s Allowance (Amendment No. 2) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2000

Citation and commencement

1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Jobseeker’s Allowance (Amendment No. 2) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2000 and shall come into operation on 3rd April 2000.

Amendment of the Jobseeker’s Allowance Regulations

2.—(1) The Jobseeker’s Allowance Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1996(1) shall be amended in accordance with paragraphs (2) to (5).

(2) In regulation 4 (interpretation of Parts II, IV and V), in the definition of “employment officer” for “11 and 12 of the Order” there shall be substituted “10 or 11 and 12 of the Order, as the case may be;”.

(3) In regulation 23 (attendance), for “the Department” there shall be substituted “an employment officer”.

(4) In regulation 24—

(a) in paragraph (6)(a)(2), (b) and (c)(3) after “Department” there shall be added “or an employment officer, as the case may be”;

(b) in paragraph (7) after “Department”, in the first place where that word occurs, there shall be inserted “or an employment officer, as the case may be”;

(c) in paragraph (10) after “Department” there shall be inserted “or an employment officer, as the case may be,”.

(5) In regulation 25(1)(b)(i)(4) (entitlement ceasing on failure to comply), for “the Department” there shall be substituted “an employment officer”.
