2. The Traffic Signs Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1979(1) shall be amended as follows—
(a)after diagram 618.1 insert the following diagram and the words
specified in and under it—
Entry to pedestrian zone restricted.
Permitted variants: References to the time of day, the day of the week or the month of the year may be added. “loading by” with the goods vehicle symbol may be varied to “access to off-street premises”, “permit holders”, “buses”, “taxis” or the orange badge symbol shown in diagram 661. The variants may be used in any combination with each other and with “Except for loading”. The word “and” shall be inserted before the last variant where more than one is used.618.2”
(b)under diagram 661 for the words “Permitted variant:” to the end substitute the following words—
“Permitted variants: “Disabled drivers” may be substituted for “Disabled badge holders”. An arrow may be added to the sign, pointing to the left or to the right as appropriate. A reference to the time of day, the day of the week or the month of the year may be added.”.
