SCHEDULEGENERAL OPTICAL COUNCIL

The Registration and Enrolment (Amendment) Rules 1996

In pursuance of their powers under section 10 of the Opticians Act 1989 the General Optical Council hereby make the following rules:

1. These rules may be cited as the Registration and Enrolment (Amendment) Rules 1996.

2. In the Registration and Enrolment Rules 1976 (which in their original form are scheduled to the General Optical Council (Registration and Enrolment Rules) Order of Council 1977(1) the Appendix shall be amended by replacing the figures £50, £29 and £18, on each occasion where they appear, by the figures £52, £30 and £19 respectively.

3. The Registration and Enrolment (Amendment) Rules 1994(2) (which will be spent on the coming into force of these Rules) are hereby revoked.

4. These Rules shall come into force on 1st April 1997 and shall apply to applications for registration, enrolment, retention, restoration and transfer to take effect on or after 1st April 1997 whether made before, on or after that date.
