1. These Regulations are called the Education (School Information) (Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2002 and shall come into force on 31st May 2002.
2.—(1) The Education (School Information) (Wales) Regulations 1999(3) are amended as follows.
(2) In regulation 3(1), for the definitions of “NC tests” (in both places) and “NC tasks” substitute—
““NC tests” and “NC tasks” means, respectively, National Curriculum tests and National Curriculum tasks administered to pupils in accordance with the statutory arrangements;”.
(3) In Schedule 3, omit—
(a)in paragraph 18, in sub-paragraph (3) the words “Subject to sub-paragraph (8)” and the words “and specifying the percentage of pupils who were absent from the NC tests”;
(b)in paragraph 18, in sub-paragraph (5) the words “Subject to sub-paragraph (8)”; and
(c)in paragraph 18, sub-paragraph (8).

These Regulations amend the Education (School Information) (Wales) Regulations 1999 in consequence of the abolition in Wales of “standard task assessments” (tests) to which the Education (National Curriculum) (Assessment Arrangements for English, Welsh, Mathematics and Science) (Key Stage 1) (Wales) Order 2002 (S.I. 2002/45 (W.4)) gave effect.
1996 c. 56. Section 537(4) was amended by paragraph 37 of Schedule 7 to the Education Act 1997 (c. 44), section 537(1) by paragraph 152 of Schedule 30 to the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 (c. 31) and section 537(7) by paragraph 60 of Schedule 9 to the Learning and Skills Act 2000 (c. 21). For the meaning of “prescribed” and “regulations” see section 579(1) of the 1996 Act.
