The Education (School Information) (Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2002

Coming into force
The National Assembly for Wales makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by sections 537 and 569(4) and (5) of the Education Act 19961 and now vested in the National Assembly2.

Name and commencement1.

These Regulations are called the Education (School Information) (Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2002 and shall come into force on 31st May 2002.

Amendment of Regulations2.

(1)

The Education (School Information) (Wales) Regulations 19993 are amended as follows.

(2)

In regulation 3(1), for the definitions of “NC tests” (in both places) and “NC tasks” substitute—
  • ““NC tests” and “NC tasks” means, respectively, National Curriculum tests and National Curriculum tasks administered to pupils in accordance with the statutory arrangements;”.

(3)

In Schedule 3, omit—

(a)

in paragraph 18, in sub-paragraph (3) the words “Subject to sub-paragraph (8)” and the words “and specifying the percentage of pupils who were absent from the NC tests”;

(b)

in paragraph 18, in sub-paragraph (5) the words “Subject to sub-paragraph (8)”; and

(c)

in paragraph 18, sub-paragraph (8).

These Regulations amend the Education (School Information) (Wales) Regulations 1999 in consequence of the abolition in Wales of “standard task assessments” (tests) to which the Education (National Curriculum) (Assessment Arrangements for English, Welsh, Mathematics and Science) (Key Stage 1) (Wales) Order 2002 (S.I. 2002/45 (W.4)) gave effect.
