The President of the Family Division of the High Court (the judicial office holder nominated by the Lord Chief Justice), with the agreement of the Lord Chancellor, makes the following Rules in exercise of the powers conferred by section 127 of the Senior Courts Act 1981(1) and section 2(5) of the Colonial Probates Act 1892(2).

1981 c. 54. Section 127 was amended by sections 12(2) and 146 of, and paragraphs 11 and 12 of Part 2 of Schedule 1 and Part 1 of Schedule 18 to, the Constitutional Reform Act 2005 (c. 4); and section 59(5) of, and paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 11 to, the Constitutional Reform Act 2005 provided for the Supreme Court Act 1981 to be cited as the Senior Courts Act 1981.

1892 c. 6. Section 2 was amended by section 59(5) of, and paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 11 to, the Constitutional Reform Act 2005 which provided for the Supreme Court Act 1981 to be cited as the Senior Courts Act 1981 and by sections 52(2) and 59(5) of, and Part 1 of Schedule 13 to, the Finance Act 1975 (c. 7).
