The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 45(1) of the High Speed Rail (London – West Midlands) Act 2017(1), makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the High Speed Rail (London – West Midlands) (Nomination) Order 2017 and comes into force on 24th February 2017.
2.—(1) High Speed Two (HS2) Ltd is be the nominated undertaker for—
(a)all purposes of the scheduled works; and
(b)subject to paragraph (2), the purposes of any other provision of the High Speed Rail (London – West Midlands) Act 2017 so far as connected with or in any way related to those works or otherwise for Phase One purposes.
(2) The purposes referred to in paragraph (1)(b) do not include the demolition of the Vezey Wing (and link bridge) of the former National Temperance Hospital at 110-112 Hampstead Road, London NW1 2LS.

Article 2(1) of this Order appoints High Speed Two (HS2) Ltd as the nominated undertaker for all purposes of the scheduled works of the High Speed Rail (London – West Midlands) Act 2017 and for any other purposes under that Act in so far as those purposes are connected to those works or otherwise for Phase One purposes.
