The Trading with the Enemy (Revocation) Order 2011

The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 1, 5, 7 and 15(5) of the Trading with the Enemy Act 1939(1) and section 2 and Schedule 2 to the Emergency Laws (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1953(2), now vested in him(3).

1939 c.89 (2 & 3 Geo. 6). Relevant amendments were made to sections 1 and 15 by the Emergency Laws (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1953 (c.47). Relevant amendments were made to section 5(1) by the Companies Act 1948 (c.38). Relevant amendments were made to section 7 by the Criminal Justice Act 1982 (c.48) and Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1975 (c. 21).

1953 c.47. Section 2 was amended by the Statute Law (Repeals) Act 1976.

The functions of the Board of Trade including the power to make Orders under sections 1, 5, 7 and 15 of the Trading with the Enemy Act 1939 and section 2 and Schedule 2 of the Emergency Laws (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1953 were transferred to the Secretary of State so as to be exercisable concurrently with the Board under the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry Order 1970 (S.I. 1970/1537). The functions of the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry were transferred to the Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform under the Secretaries of State for Children, Schools and Families, for Innovation, Universities and Skills and for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Order 2007 (S.I. 2007/3224). The functions of the Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform were transferred to the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills under the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills Order 2009 (S.I. 2009/2748).
