In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 4(3) of the Children and Young Persons (Protection from Tobacco) Act 1991(1) and of all other powers enabling me in that behalf, I hereby make the following Regulations:—
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Protection from Tobacco (Display of Warning Statements) Regulations 1992 and shall come into force on 20th February 1993.
2. The dimensions of the notice to be exhibited in accordance with section 4(1) of the Children and Young Persons (Protection from Tobacco) Act 1991 (display of warning statements in retail premises) shall be not less than 297 millimetres by 420 millimetres and the size of the statement to be displayed on the notice shall be such that no character is less than 36 millimetres high.
3. The dimensions of the notice to be exhibited in accordance with section 4(2) of the Children and Young Persons (Protection from Tobacco) Act 1991 (display of warning statements on vending machines) shall be not less than 60 millimetres by 100 millimetres and the size of the statement to be displayed on the notice shall be such that no character is less than 6 millimetres high.

These Regulations prescribe—
(a)the dimensions of the notice displaying a warning statement which must be exhibited in premises at which tobacco is sold by retail, and on vending machines for the sale of tobacco, and
(b)the size of the statement which must be displayed on such a notice.
