The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 47(1) and 50(1) of the Road Traffic Act 1972(1), and now vested in him(2), and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with representative organisations in accordance with the provisions of section 199(2) of that Act, hereby makes the following Regulations:—
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Motor Vehicles (Type Approval for Goods Vehicles) (Great Britain) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 1986, and shall come into operation on 1st August 1986.
2. The Motor Vehicles (Type Approval for Goods Vehicles) (Great Britain) Regulations 1982(3) shall be further amended so as to have effect in accordance with the following provisions of these Regulations.
3. In Schedule 1 (Type Approval Requirements), in column (5) (Date of application) of items 2, 3A, 4B(3), 4C(3), 4D(3), 6F, 6G and 6H for “… 1986” in each place where it occurs there shall be substituted “1st August 1986”.

These Regulations further amend the Motor Vehicles (Type Approval for Goods Vehicles) (Great Britain) Regulations 1982 by inserting the date “1st August 1986” in column (5) of the items in Schedule 1 listed in regulation 3, thereby making good a deficiency in earlier amending Regulations (S.I. 1986/427).
