The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the Secretary of State, acting jointly, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section 4 of, and Part II of Schedule 3 to, the European Communities Act 1972, and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following order:—
1. This order may be cited as the Sugar Act 1956 (Repeals) (Appointed Day) (No. 6) Order 1981 and shall come into operation on 1st September 1981.
2. The repeal of the enactment mentioned in the Schedule to this order shall take effect, to the extent specified in column 3 of the Schedule, on 1st September 1981.
In Witness whereof the Official Seal of the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food is hereunto affixed on 11th August 1981.

This Order made under section 4 of, and Part II of Schedule 3 to, the European Communities Act 1972 appoints a day for the repeal of specified provisions of the Sugar Act 1956 which subject the British Sugar Corporation in certain respects to Ministerial control.
