Overview of the Act
- The Trade (Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership) Act (the "Act") provides measures to help ensure the UK will be compliant with its international obligations pursuant to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership ("CPTPP") when the UK accedes to that treaty. In particular, the measures in the Act make changes to domestic law in three areas:
- technical barriers to trade;
- government procurement; and
- intellectual property.
