The Secretary of State makes this Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 58(1), as extended by section 26(3) of the Welsh Language Act 1993(1), and 154(2)(b) of the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011(2).
The Secretary of State has consulted the Electoral Commission in accordance with section 7(2)(hc) of the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000(3).
In accordance with section 154(2) of the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011, a draft of this Order has been laid before Parliament and approved by resolution of each House of Parliament.
2011 c. 13. Section 58(1) was amended by transfer of functions orders S.I. 2014/268, 2015/1376, 2015/1526, 2016/997 and 2021/1265.
2000 c. 41. Section 7(2)(hc) was inserted by the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011 (c. 13), paragraph 11 of Schedule 10.
