Coming into operation

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) (2021 Consolidation) (Amendment No. 13) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2021.
(2) These Regulations come into operation at 11.00 a.m. on 16th December 2021.
(3) In these Regulations “the principal Regulations” means the Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2021(3).
2. The principal Regulations are amended as mentioned in regulation 3.
3. In Schedule 7—
(a)in paragraph 17(1)(b), after “are to be read as references to a” omit “managed isolation”;
(b)in paragraph 18(a)—
(i)in head (x), for “; and” substitute ”,”;
(ii)after head (x) insert—
“(xi)a person whom the Department considers requires exceptional arrangements to be made on compassionate grounds; and”.

These Regulations amend the Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2021 (“the principal Regulations”).
These Regulations permit those red list passengers who were isolating in accordance with Schedule 7 immediately before 4.00 a.m. on 15th December 2021 to complete their period of self-isolation at a place other than the place specified in their managed isolation package.
No impact assessment has been prepared for these Regulations.
