Coming into operation
The Department of Health1 makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 25B and 25F of the Public Health Act (Northern Ireland) 19672.

Citation, commencement and interpretation1.

(1)

These Regulations may be cited as the Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) (2021 Consolidation) (Amendment No. 13) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2021.

(2)

These Regulations come into operation at 11.00 a.m. on 16th December 2021.

In these Regulations “the principal Regulations” means the Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 20213.

Amendment of the principal Regulations2.

The principal Regulations are amended as mentioned in regulation 3.

Amendment of Schedule 7 (Managed Isolation)3.

In Schedule 7—

(a)

in paragraph 17(1)(b), after “are to be read as references to a” omit “managed isolation”;

(b)

in paragraph 18(a)—

(i)

in head (x), for “; and” substitute ”,”;

(ii)

after head (x) insert—

“(xi)

a person whom the Department considers requires exceptional arrangements to be made on compassionate grounds; and”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations amend the Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2021 (“the principal Regulations”).

These Regulations permit those red list passengers who were isolating in accordance with Schedule 7 immediately before 4.00 a.m. on 15th December 2021 to complete their period of self-isolation at a place other than the place specified in their managed isolation package.

No impact assessment has been prepared for these Regulations.
