The Scottish Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 90(1) of the Coronavirus Act 2020(1) and all other powers enabling them to do so.
The Scottish Ministers are satisfied that the conditions specified in section 90(9) of that Act are satisfied in relation to the provisions expired by these Regulations.
In accordance with section 95(1) of that Act, a draft of these Regulations has been laid before, and approved by resolution of, the Scottish Parliament.
1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Coronavirus Act 2020 (Early Expiry of Provisions) (Scotland) Regulations 2021 and come into force on 12 December 2021.
(2) In these Regulations, “the Act” means the Coronavirus Act 2020.
2. The following provisions of the Act do not expire at the time when they would otherwise expire by virtue of section 89 of the Act and expire instead on 12 December 2021—
(a)Part 1 of schedule 22 so far as it applies in Scotland,
(b)Part 3 of schedule 22,
(c)section 52, so far as it relates to Parts 1 and 3 of schedule 22, as it applies in Scotland.

These Regulations expire Part 1 (so far as it applies in Scotland) and Part 3 of schedule 22 (powers to issue directions relating to events, gatherings and premises) and, so far as it applies to those Parts, section 52 (powers to issue directions relating to events, gatherings and premises) of the Coronavirus Act 2020.
The expiration date of those provisions becomes 12 December 2021 rather than the expiry date provided for by section 89 of the Coronavirus Act 2020.
An impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument.
