The Scottish Ministers make following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 206(2) of the Children’s Hearings (Scotland) Act 2011(1).
Citation, commencement and interpretation
1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Children’s Hearings (Scotland) Act 2011 (Commencement No. 10) Order 2020 and comes into force on 7 September 2020.
(2) In this Order—
“the Act” means the Children’s Hearings (Scotland) Act 2011.
Appointed day
2. In relation to section 122 of the Act (children’s advocacy services)—
(a)7 September 2020 is the appointed day for the coming into force of sub-sections (4) – (7),
(b)21 November 2020 is the appointed day for the coming into force of sub-sections (1) – (3).

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order brings into force section 122 of the Children’s Hearings (Scotland) Act 2011 (“the Act”) on 7 September 2020 (sub-sections (4) – (7)) and 21 November 2020 (sub-sections (1) to (3)). Section 122 makes provision in relation to children’s advocacy services.

The Act received Royal Assent on 6 January 2011 and Part 20 (other than section 203) came into force on that day. The provisions of the Act commenced by earlier commencement orders are detailed in the table below.

Policy Note
Policy Note sets out a brief statement of the purpose of a Scottish Statutory Instrument and provides information about its policy objective and policy implications. They aim to make the Scottish Statutory Instrument accessible to readers who are not legally qualified and accompany any Scottish Statutory Instrument or Draft Scottish Statutory Instrument laid before the Scottish Parliament from July 2012 onwards. Prior to this date these type of notes existed as ‘Executive Notes’ and accompanied Scottish Statutory Instruments from July 2005 until July 2012.
