3.Throughout these explanatory notes the following definitions have been used:
“the Act” means the Crofting Reform etc. Act 2007;
“the 1993 Act” means the Crofting (Scotland) Act 1993;
“the 1964 Act” means the Succession (Scotland) Act 1964;
“the Commission” means the Crofters Commission.
Text created by the Scottish Government to explain what the Act sets out to achieve and to make the Act accessible to readers who are not legally qualified. Explanatory Notes were introduced in 1999 and accompany all Acts of the Scottish Parliament except those which result from Budget Bills.
