Health marking etc. of certain meat and meat products

4.  No person shall use any colour for the purpose of the health marking required by Article 5.1(a) of Regulation (EC) No. 853/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council laying down specific hygiene rules for food of animal origin(1) or any other marking required on any meat product, other than the permitted colours—

(a)E155 Brown HT;

(b)E133 Brilliant Blue FCF;

(c)E129 Allura Red AC; or

(d)an appropriate mixture of (b) and (c).

Regulation (EC) No. 853/2004 was last amended by Commission Regulation (EC) No. 1020/2008 amending Annexes II and III to Regulation (EC) No. 853/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council laying down specific hygiene rules for food of animal origin and Regulation (EC) No. 2076/2005 as regards identification marking, raw milk and dairy products, eggs and egg products and certain fishery products (O.J. No. L 277, 18.10.2008, p.8).
