This Order brings into force on 4th December 2006 provisions allowing local authorities to carry out or arrange work or demolition and a provision on right of entry in connection with those powers. Section 57 creates a new offence of failing to comply with a sheriff’s order to permit works to be done.
The Order also commences the power of local authorities to obtain information to carry out their functions, and general provisions on date of operation of notices etc, forms and formal communications and offences.
It brings into force, but only for the purpose of making regulations, provisions dealing with the duty to provide information on the sale of a house and the making and determination of certain applications to the private rented housing panel.
