The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 2 of the Further and Higher Education (Scotland) Act 2005(1) and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Dissolution of Funding Councils (Scotland) Order 2005 and shall come into force on 3rd October 2005.

Appointed Day

2.  The appointed day for the dissolution of the Scottish Further Education Funding Council and the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council(2) is 3rd October 2005.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order appoints 3rd October 2005 for the dissolution of the Scottish Further Education Funding Council and the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council.

The Scottish Further Education Funding Council was established under section 7(1) of the Further and Higher Education (Scotland) Act 1992 (c. 37); the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council was established by section 37(1) of that Act.
