(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order, which extends to Scotland only, implements Council Directive 2000/15/EC amending Council Directive 64/432/EEC on health problems affecting intra Community trade in bovine animals and swine.
The Order amends the Pigs (Records, Identification and Movement) Order 1995 (“the principal Order”) by providing revised versions of the declarations to accompany movements of pigs in accordance with article 9 of and Schedule 2 to, and article 11 of and Schedule 6 to, the principal Order, so that such declarations must be sent to the appropriate local authority even if the pigs are being moved for immediate slaughter. The Order revokes article 10 of and Schedule 5 to the principal Order dealing with movement of pigs from waste food premises. The Order also makes revisals to the movement licence issued in accordance with article 12 of and Schedule 7 to the principal Order so that the licence must be countersigned by the licensee and sent to the local authority within 3 days of the movement.
A breach of the terms of the principal Order or of a licence issued thereunder constitutes an offence under the Animal Health Act 1981.
A Regulatory Impact Assessment has not been prepared for this Order.
