(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations amend the Bovines and Bovine Products (Trade) Regulations 1999 (S.I. 1999/1103, as amended) insofar as they extend to Scotland. Those Regulations extend to the whole of Great Britain.

The effect of the amendments is to permit the despatch of bone-in beef from premises approved under the Date Based Export Scheme to the domestic market.

A Regulatory Impact Assessment, which includes a compliance cost assessment of the effect which these Regulations will have on business costs, has been prepared and placed in the Scottish Parliament Information Centre and copies can be obtained from the Scottish Executive Rural Affairs Department (Livestock, Animal Health and Welfare Division), Pentland House, 47 Robbs Loan, Edinburgh EH14 1TW.
