1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Housing Benefit (Recovery of Overpayments) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1998 and shall come into operation on 6th November 1998.
(2) The Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954(1) shall apply to these Regulations as it applies to a Measure of the Assembly.
2. In regulation 3 of the Housing Benefit (Recovery of Overpayments) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1997(2) (restriction on recovery of rent and consequent notifications)—
(a)in paragraph (2) for “recovered” there shall be substituted “recoverable”;
(b)in paragraph (3)—
(i)after the words “paragraph (2) applies” the first time they appear, there shall be inserted “or will apply when recovery is made,”;
(ii)in sub-paragraph (a) for “was one” there shall be substituted “is or will be one”.
