3.—(1) The Hill Livestock (Compensatory Allowances) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1996(1) shall be amended in accordance with this regulation.
(2) In paragraph (1) of regulation 2 (interpretation) the definitions of “the 1984 Regulations” and of “the 1993 Suckler Cow Regulations” shall be revoked.
(3) In paragraph (4) of regulation 2 there shall be substituted for the phrase “these regulations” the second time it occurs the following—
“the Hill Livestock (Compensatory Allowances) (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) Regulations 1998”.
(4) In paragraph (1A) of regulation 3 (compensatory allowances for breeding cows and ewes)—
(a)there shall be substituted for “the 1997 Scheme year” the phrase “the 1998 Scheme year”;
(b)in sub-paragraphs (a) and (b)(i), for “£97·50” there shall be substituted “£47·50”;
(c)in sub-paragraph (b)(i), for “£121·49” there shall be substituted “£88·70”;
(d)in sub-paragraphs (b)(ii) and (c), for “£69·75” there shall be substituted “£23·75”.
(5) In paragraph (1B) of regulation 3—
(a)there shall be substituted for “the 1997 Scheme year” the phrase “the 1998 Scheme year”;
(b)in sub-paragraph (b)(ii)(aa), for “£121·49” there shall be substituted “£88·70”.
(6) In paragraph (2) of regulation 3 for “, the 1992 Regulations or the 1984 Regulations” there shall be substituted “or the 1992 Regulations”.
(7) In paragraph (3) of regulation 3 the phrase “Subject to paragraph (3A),” shall be revoked.
(8) Paragraph (3A) of regulation 3 shall be revoked.
