Coming into operation
1st August 1996
The Lord Chancellor in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Article 27(1) of the Juries (Northern Ireland) Order 1996(1) hereby makes the following Order:—
1. This Order may be cited as the Form of Jurors Oath Order (Northern Ireland) 1996 and shall come into operation on 1st August 1996.
2. The oath taken by jurors in the Crown Court shall be in the following form:—
“I swear by Almighty God that I will faithfully try the defendant and give a true verdict according to the evidence”.

This Order prescribes the form of oath to be taken by jurors in the Crown Court.
